Colorado is home to the Country’s largest Mule Deer. Here at ALLOUT Outfitters, we pride ourselves in harvesting only the biggest and best. Our year round scouting practice gives us an incredible amount of knowledge about our deer and there seasonal behavior patterns. We strive to know their every move from low country wintering ground to high elevation summering grounds. When hunting season arrives we are fully prepared to anticipate their actions allowing us to put you in line for the shot of a lifetime. We feel there are two prime seasons for harvesting these monsters. First opportunity begins with Muzzleloader season. This provides the opportunity to hunt when they are still in their docile summer patterns. Second prime opportunity is 3rd season. This happens early November when they are headed into full rut. We ask for clients to come prepared to pass on lower class deer as we pursue your trophy of 160" or better.

Phone: (970) 283-9420

At The High Lonesome Ranch you’ll find a perfect combination of elk habitats. From aspens to oakbrush and mountain shrubs to dark green timber, we’ve got it all on one ranch. You’ll find them at the higher elevations, which you’ll hunt early in the season. As the weather turns cold and the snow flies, the herds move to lower elevations on our ranch. In October and November you’ll find them in the pinyon-juniper and sagebrush flats at lower elevations. With over 300 square miles of permitted and deeded acres you’ll find elk during the summer and fall transition periods and leading into the winter. Mule deer like edges, and our significant habitat work has included a combination of open space adjoining the big timber and canyon areas. Deer browse on woody vegetation, so when they’re on the ranch they typically occupy completely different habitats than our elk.

Practice shooting off your knee or sitting down, however, a lot of shooting is done near the truck. Also a positive attitude with a strong desire to hunt hard and long is essential. Hunters should note our elevations range from 7200 feet to 11,000 feet with an average elevation being 7800 feet.
