Our rut peaks about November 18th, plus or minus six days and rattling horns can be the most effective way to see Mr. Big. My properties have some permanent tree stands or I provide portable stands or you can bring your own. Our deer hunts are mainly trophy hunts, although management deer may be taken. We hunt in units 18 and 16 in southwest and south central Kansas. These units are both great trophy deer units. Unit 16 has been advertised nationwide in whitetail publications as the hottest whitetail spot in the nation. Although we agree with this proclamation, we also feel that unit 18 is equal in terms of producing trophy whitetail deer.
Two deer species thrive in Kansas: the mule deer and the white-tailed deer. Mule deer are restricted to the western third of the state, primarily on the High Plains, Smoky Hills, and Red Hills regions. Our property has an abundant supply of white-tailed deer. With our feeding program these deer are healthy and will be a great addition to your trophy collection.

The whitetail deer population is good in Unit 15 & 6. We have an ideal mix of CRP, cropland, and wooded creek areas that provide an abundance of food and habitat. Most of our properties are 160 - 640 acres in size!. Out of state hunters must apply for a permit during the April Lottery Draw. At that time you must choose either Rifle, Archery or Muzzleload. If you are not successful during the early Muzzleload season, you may use a Muzzleload gun during Rifle season.

Covering just over 700 acres, the area is bordered by the largest continuous prairie in Woodson County -- 17 sections with no public road access. LPE features prairie bordered on the East by the Upper Cedar Creek and row crops and on the West by the Upper Brazil Creek and more row crops. This is a virtual haven for white tail deer, wild turkey, quail, and prairie chicken.

ur archery hunts are semi-guided, we take the hunters and show them trees and locations on several farms and they take it upon themselves to get there every day. We help with deer retrieval and getting the deer to the meat locker. Our archery hunts are normally 6.5 days with certain situations we can add more days. We normally hunt from late October to the week of Thanksgiving when the rut in Kansas is in full swing. We take 8-9 bow hunters a week and utilize the hunters on 36 different farms that we have strictly for archery hunting. The fridge will be stocked with breakfast foods and dinners will be provided.

Mule Deer and Whitetails: Being stationed in the heart of Western Kansas we are able to provide some of the largest bucks for both species. You might see both species even in the same group together. Thanks to Scott County being mostly farm land, our deer are fat and healthy with large antlers. Our bucks can easily gross anywhere from the 120's to 180's. Most of our hunts consist of spot and stock, tree stand, or are by ground blind. We accept archery, muzzleloader, and rifle hunts. Deer season varies between archery and rifle.

Quail Quest whitetail deer hunts are VERY exclusive and are all conducted on around 7000 acres of private land leases. The areas that we hunt are unique in the fact that we offer river bottom hunting, rolling hills with deep tree filled canyons, and rich open farmland with small creeks running down the sloughs. The terrain varies a great deal depending on what direction you head from our lodge. All of these areas have great habitat and an abundance of deer! It is not uncommon to see 130 to 140 class deer just out strolling around the open country. Record-class bucks show up just often enough to keep things interesting.
