Deer Hunting - Burke, South Dakota

Rooster Tales has the unique opportunity of obtaining licenses for Whitetail Deer and Merriam Turkey hunts. How do we do this? We have an abundance of tribal land that borders our property and will be working with the Rosebud Sioux Tribe to offer licenses.

Talon outfitters is located in the heart of Gregory county South Dakota, one of the top counties in South Dakota for Boone and Crockett typical Whitetails. Our 13,000 continuous acres of private hunting lease are diligently managed by our resident biologist to give the animals every opportunity to grow to their greatest potential. We do enforce a minimum age restriction of 4.5 years to protect the younger bucks and give them time to mature. Our management goal is to create mature trophy class whitetails in an ultra low pressure setting. Archery or Rifle

Hunters receive lodging, breakfast, lunch, dog kennels, sporting clays and seasoned guides. When you wake up in the morning, you're only a short walk or drive away from the hunting grounds.

We have corn fed whitetails traveling through the creek bottoms every day. We have them on the grain fields every night. Growing, corn, milo and other grains assures the deer will stay close and winter well. Your Whitetail Deer season includes: 5 Day semi-guided hunt, lodging and meals. 3 Hunter maximum per season with tree stands in prime locations. There are no trophy fees but there is a 8 point minimum. Hunter is responsible for all deer cleaning and it can be taken in town for processing at the hunters expense if you wish.
