Mule & Whitetail Deer Hunts. Beaver Trap Outfitters is located along the eastern slope of the Big Horn Mountains in Dayton, Wyoming. All hunting is done on surrounding private ranches, National Forest and BLM lands. We do not take large numbers of hunters each year which ensures a quality hunt for you. No more than 4-6 hunters in camp per week. Two hunters per guide but one on one hunts are available for an additional fee. While you are here you will receive 100% from myself and my staff in pursuit of your trophy. We will assist you with all applications and hunt preparation needs.
Our Mule Deer hunts take place in the famous Salt and Greys River Ranges of Western Wyoming. While the past few winters have been tough on deer populations, there are still a lot of great bucks to be found. Region G and H are known for producing world class mule deer. Seasons run from early September to mid-October. Our typical Muley hunts last 5 days, additional days can be purchased
We have some of the finest deer hunting in the state. Our hunts take place on private land in central Wyoming. We limit the number of hunters to assure everyone of a quality hunt with no unwanted interference. The hunting will be early season, mostly high altitude, difficult hunting, but the bucks are here and we have the knowledge to produce a shot at them. Our deer have been in a building phase for the past five years. Although the total herd numbers still have some room for improvement, our Buck to doe ratios and the number of truly Trophy type bucks have never been better.
To meet your trophy expectations and maintain a healthy herd, we are very selective in the number and type of deer we harvest each year off of our private ranches. Consequently, our deer area has become one of the hottest areas in Southeastern Wyoming for trophy mule deer. A successful mule deer hunt in Wyoming typically requires a lot of time glassing and a lot of patience. Many times these big bucks will lay in their bed and simply not move a muscle and watch you go by.
Our original camp, right in an excellent migration area, is a trophy hunter's delight. This camp has a general season for Elk, Oct. 1-21, but we use it primarily for spring Black Bear, Bighorn Sheep, trophy ElkHarv Fridley with the 2012 First Place Wyoming Big Horn Sheep, SCI Score 179 5/8 Harv Fridley with the 2012 First Place Wyoming Big Horn Sheep, SCI Score 179 5/8 We offer 7 day fair chase sight and stalk spring Bear hunts in May and June. Hardpan is a good area for color phase Black Bears and these tags can be purchased over the counter for both residents and non-residents of Wyoming. Dates are flexible and licenses can be purchased over the counter.
Our deer population is some of the best in the entire state of Wyoming. We are fortunate to have a good mixture of whitetail deer as well as mule deer. The mule deer have exceeded the Wyoming game and fish department management expectations recently in our area as well as boasting the highest density of whitetail deer in the state. We do not currently have an antler size restriction but do encourage hunters to try to harvest a mature animal to help manage the deer herd for quality hunting in the future. Our typical deer hunt consists of a 5-day hunt that includes your lodging and three meals a day. Most of our archery hunts are done from tree stands or ground blinds. Once rifle season comes in it can be a combination of stands and spot and stalk. We provide transportation to and from the stand as well as retrieval of the game animals. Once back at the lodge we will skin and quarter your animal for you.

Whitetail only rifle tags combine all three hunting units. Archery and muzzleloader tags are also combined hunt codes. What this means is triple the hunting area, thus increasing the quality of your hunt. It also allows for multiple hunting locations and increased numbers of game to select from. Mule Deer Hunts. This is a trophy mule deer hunt for dark horned mountain bucks. We have one of the largest deer migrations in the country. Our hunters have enjoyed great success with nice 4x4 bucks and better. Our deer hunt is conducted out of our base of operations with comfortable lodge accommodations. A horse back hunt in the beautiful mountains and drainages of the North Fork and South Fork of the Shoshone River between Cody and Yellowstone National Park. This is a 5 day hunt and is conducted on a one guide, two hunter basis. Hunt dates are: October 23 – 27; October 30 – November3; November 6 – 10th.
The Mule Deer is the most sought after trophy hunt of the west. Mule Deer hunts also have been described as one the most Memorable and challenging hunts you can do. This is a must do hunt For a seasoned pro, or a first time hunter. The rifle Mule Deer Hunts are all spot and stalk. We are looking for Mature Bucks with 20 to 28 outside spread. There is a limited number of Mule deer hunts offered, due To our commitment to achieve mature trophy Mule Deer season after season. We will not disappoint you with the quality of the hunt or the game.
We hunt both whitetail deer and mule deer. Mule deer hunt typically run Oct. 15-Oct. 31. Whitetail hunts normally run Nov. 1-Nov. 30. 4 days on private ranches. This hunt includes hotel accommodations on hunt days only, sack lunch, guide services and transportation to and from hunt area
Our mule deer hunts take place on large private ranches. The terrain encompasses rolling grasslands and rough canyon areas with patches of native timber. We leave the ranch headquarters early and glass the hunting area from a high vantage point. Trophy bucks are most easily spotted early in the morning as they leave their feeding areas to bed down for the day. Many of our mule deer qualify for the SCI record book.

It is getting harder and harder to find good hunting with big bucks, but the Rockin' 7 Ranch has plenty of big bucks. We have large herds that roam freely over 105,000 acres of private land. Our guided deer hunts are designed to give the hunter the best opportunity to harvest a trophy. Our mule deer and antelope hunting are the heart of the operation. The wild populations are dense and outside hunting pressure is kept to a minimum to allow Rockin' 7 Ranch guests the best there is when it comes to fair chase hunting!
Rifle and Archery Hunts for White-Tail and Mule Deer. We have two rifle seasons and two archery seasons on the ranch since it is located in two hunting areas. The area on the west side of the ranch opens for Rifle Season Oct. 1-20. The hunting area on the east side of the ranch opens for the Rifle Season Nov. 1-21 where you can hunt during the rut. The Archery Season begins Sept. 1 up until the rifles seasons in both hunting areas on the ranch. You may hunt with a bow during rifle season but you must wear blaze orange. All of these hunts are 1 on 1(extra fee) or 2 on 1 lasting 5 (five) days.
this mule deer hunt offers an incredible expanse of mule deer habitat on ranches totaling more than 62,000 acres. We have been managing these ranches for more than 20 years and the quality is evident. Early October is the perfect time to book a mule deer huntThe area produces 13”-15” antelope on average, with a few larger bucks each year. Quality mule deer is what this hunt is all about. These properties consistently produce trophy bucks. Access roads are fairly plentiful and all hunts are conducted using 4x4 vehicles.
Hunting season extends from the first of September through December. Big Game Hunting in the Big Horn Mountains includes elk, deer and antelope. South Fork Mountain Lodge & Outfitters can provide guides, horses, and food or simply a warm cabin and hot meals in our Lodge.
Spur Outfitters, LLC, offers big game hunts on the Wyoming properties for trophy elk, mule deer, pronghorn antelope and moose. Licenses are acquired through a lottery draw. Applications for Elk are due no later than January 31st of each year. We hunt areas that are draw only, no over the counter or leftover tags exist in our units. Our areas have low drawing odds unless you have preference points. We hunt almost all public ground and we spread out over many areas, this keeps our hunting pressure low and trophy quality high.
Trefren Outfitters Little Greys camp sits right in the middle of the best Mule Deer hunting in North America. Sitting on the boundaries of two of the best units in Wyoming for trophy mule deer, regions H and G, you can be sure that the opportunity to take the trophy of a lifetime is better here than anywhere else in the world. Trefren Outfitters routinely takes deer ranging from the 170” to over 200” every year. The season runs from mid September to mid October, offering a wide range in hunting conditions from hunting deer in bachelor groups just coming out of velvet to the pre-rut.
Mule deer, whitetail deer, Merriam turkey, sharp-tail grouse, fox, bobcat, coyote, and mountain lion can all be found on the property. Two mountain lion were shot off of the property in 2015. In 2014 we decided to start offering a limited number of hunts to conscientious sportsman outside of the family. We now offer spring turkey hunts, September archery hunts for deer, and mid November rifle hunts for deer.
